“Let me cover that bare metal with tape to keep it from rusting.”
The same tape that’ll pin water and dirt against the bare metal and accelerate corrosion. On a car with unavailable door skins. Whoops.
Educational note: The diagonal crease in the door is the UHSS intrusion beam, the door skin stretched itself over the beam.

Good spot - that door beam lives to save someone another day ... still, a new door could be had from a junkyard and be painted to match. Nice ride marred by a t-bone incident.

Exactly, replacing that door and fender should be easy from a junk yard and not cost very much. Getting the paint to match would be annoying but its better than destroyed body panels. I rocked a multicolored car for like half a year.

That is a very nice hotel - they had (not sure about now) Maybachs to ferry their guests around.

And it’s not as though that’s one of the last 9-5s ... it’s hardly a pristine example of the marque. But still, show a little bit of pride.
On the other hand, few people feel the same way we do about cars.
